Here are the results from our competitive dance weekend:

DQ Funk (our 30 member team), ages 7 to 21, Production: Open. High Gold, first in category, first overall in division.
Torey Robinson, SCSU/Education Major, Soloist: Contemporary. High Gold, first in category, first overall in division.
A special mention goes to Aissatou Diallo, our Junior Mentor/Instructor/Coach, who helped us prepare for the event. She is a scholarship contract recipient at Hamden Academy of Dance and Music, and she placed high gold, first in category and second overall in her division for her contemporary solo. She also competed with a group that placed 5 overall in the competitive division for HADM. And last, she was selected for a special scholarship to a California Intensive with photo shoot and other goodies. Congratulations to Aissatou and we thank her for the help coaching our team and participants.
Also, Daedreamers Kaylah G. and Raji C-G. participated in area competitions as well. Kaylah's trio placed first in category, and first overall in division with high gold (HADM) and Raji's placed 6th for title and 6th overall for her jazz solo, "Glam" with Starr Jazz Company. She also won a standout-dancer scholarship. Her trio got high gold, and first overall.
There are some videos and photos all over social media, and you can see all of them in one place at our website daedreamnh.weebly.com early tomorrow morning (or late this evening).
Congratulations to ALL the participants and parents who worked so hard! Special thanks to Karina Burgos for making us look so good, Nancy Aronsen, who pulled through several miracles at the last minute, Kay Ann and Kerry Ann McCooty for their support and Vani Mohanraj for her help on the day of the event.
It was DEFINITELY a LEARNING EXPERIENCE....we learned a lot of things and some of them the hard way, but now that we have competed, we understand the circuit much better and if we decide to compete again, "we got this" as far as logistics go.
