Performance Contract
PERFORMANCE/TEACHER/DANCER CONTRACT
All Performers/Dancers/Teachers are EXPECTED to perform in some capacity as part of being a Daedream Staff Member unless the CEO has said otherwise. Non-performers will take on whatever job the CEO requests instead of performance WITHOUT HESITATION.
1) All Performers/Dancers/Teachers must complete this contract and sign. Performers/Dancers/Teachers are SIGNED exclusively with the Daedream Company unless the CEO has said otherwise for this contract period. This performance agreement was made this _______ day of SEPTEMBER 2025 between The Daedream Theater Arts Co. (the “Company”) and ________________ (the “Performer” “Dancer,” “Teacher”) is for the 2025-2026 performance season.
2) The performance season will begin on Sept. 2, 2025 and end on June 17, 2026. (the “Contract Period”).
3) It also carries through the summer with some stipulations. Summer employees agree to work on show creation for the following season and may engage in classes outside of the program with COMPANY approval.
4) Performers/Dancers are not paid for volunteer time or classes they attend. Teachers may be paid if needed. Performer/Dancer/Teacher agrees to be available for ALL shows. The Company schedules during the Contract Period. Performer/Dancer(s)/Teacher’s rehearsal schedules will vary but are expected to be followed.
Performer/Dancer/Teacher agrees that:
•During the Contract Period, Dancer will attend rehearsals as much as possible, with 24-hour notice of absence.
•If injured, Performer/Dancer/Teacher will be present at the studio for scheduled classes and rehearsals to observe.
•During the Contract Period, Performer/Dancer/Teacher will arrive at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled rehearsal times and events. If Performer/Dancer/Teacher is tardy, deductions will be taken from salary in ½ hour increments at the rate of $15 per hour or whatever rate was agreed upon.
•During the Contract Period, Performer/Dancer/Teacher will not engage in any outside performances without prior consent from the artistic director and will not join an outside company.
•During the Contract Period, Dancer will not engage in outside classes for instruction without approval of the dance leaders and artistic director.
•If a Performer/Dancer/Teacher wants to have professional development in a specific skill to become a better teacher and the team will attempt to locate classes for them, and, IF possible, provide payment.
•As a courtesy to the Company, Performer/Dancer/Teacher will notify CEO of times they will be out of the New Haven area for an extended period.
•Dancers/Performers/Teachers are asked not to vacation or take long breaks during the month of May and early June unless there is an emergency. Vacation is not an emergency. Please talk with family/loved-ones NOW about this stipulation as not to disturb our performances and dress/tech rehearsals.
•The performer/Dancer/teacher understands and agrees that all choreographic material created during the Contract Period belongs solely to the Company. Performer/Dancer/Teacher may not use any such choreographic material unless permission is given by The Company and proper credit is received.
•Performer/Dancer/Teacher is always a representative of The Company when engaged in Company business.
•At no time shall a signed Performer/Dancer/Teacher participate in competing with any other company in any competitive contest or event or assist in preparing any other company for shows, competitions, or events (without express permission).
